It is anticipated that the collaboration between both entities will yield tangible benefits for the business communities in both Mauritius and Rwanda. Cooperation with the Republic of Rwanda in the area of advanced technologies, such as clean energy was also discussed.<\/p><p>Rwanda aims to position itself as a technology leader in the region with ICT ecosystem developments. The discussions focused on the transition of the ICT\/BPO sector which has moved up the value chain in Mauritius over the last decade and the provision of ICT services to Rwanda.<\/p><p>The CEO of EDB also highlighted the importance of the Mauritius International Financial Centre (MIFC) which has developed into a regional platform and is playing a prominent role in driving investment into Africa and the use of the MIFC for cross border investment to the Republic of Rwanda was mentioned.<\/p><p>It should be highlighted that Mauritius has become a key destination for students from across Africa, including Rwanda, seeking high-quality education. As at date, there are 189 students from Rwanda pursuing their higher studies in Mauritius including the medical field.<\/p><p>The High Commissioner has extended an invitation to the EDB to coordinate and lead an investment &amp; trade promotion mission comprising a delegation of potential Mauritian private sector operators having an interest in the Republic of
