African Leadership College

African Leadership College

The African Leadership College (ALC) has established itself as a beacon of innovation for higher education. Backed by a solid foundation in promoting education throughout the African continent, the ALC opened a private tertiary education institution in Mauritius in 2015. Located in Pamplemousses, ALC has consistently delivered quality higher education that nurtures a future generation of ethical, entrepreneurial leaders powered by hands-on learning experiences. This commitment is strengthened by world-class faculty and staff, alongside unique insights from industry professionals and peers.

With the support of the Economic Development Board, ALC has established the African Leadership College of Higher Education (ALCHE) in 2024. This transition represents a significant milestone in the journey of ALC, a premier Pan-African institution, dedicated to providing higher education with a higher purpose. ALCHE will now award its own fully accredited degrees, recognized by the Mauritian Higher Education Commission. ALCHE will deliver undergraduate degree programs in International Business and Trade, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Computer Science, and Software Engineering – all designed to equip future leaders with the real-world knowledge and problem-solving skills to shape progress in Mauritius and beyond.

ALC students have been exposed to the brightest minds and ideas through study-abroad programs in California’s Silicon Valley and the elite Lucerne School of Business in Switzerland. For the third year in a row, ALC students have clinched victory at the 2024 Mauritius Undergraduate Business Case Competition, which is an annual event organised by HSBC and the British council of Mauritius. This success is exemplified by pioneering graduates like Joseph Rutakwanga and Eric Sewankambo, both from ALC, whose AI-powered market intelligence platform, Rwazi, has created over 40,000 jobs worldwide and secured more than $4 million in venture funding. They have set up their company’s Headquarter in Mauritius.
